50+ Net - Elders' World Day

The United Nations (UN) hold its first World Day for Elderly People in 1991, since that, on 1st October every year is commemorated about six hundred million elder people.

he welfare society has been a problem of declining birth rates and the aging of the population.

In Hungary, every 5th person is an elder one, and from it: 61% women. Today, people live alone or with together an other elderly, the generations do not live with each other. This is a big challenge for the Hungarian society: social care and employment. It should be a flexibile work but to need a higher qualified person. Lots of them do not have enough education and experiments to have other job or opportunities.
